Final Product

I first started by displaying the Tube map vertically, and arranged the different layers to be one in front of the other. This would then allow the owner of the product to use their sense of depth to help discern between the different layers. I chose to encase the lines within clear acrylic to keep them in place and to make it a professional piece of memorabilia.

To help with this, I also gave it a wooden stand, where I could then engrave some information regarding what zone it covers, etcetera. I also engraved the item number to help sell it as a limited edition piece of merchandise.

I then worked on the lighting and composition of the final renders. The harsh white felt too clinical and didn’t represent the more personal ideals that I wanted it to. To help with this, I chose a more neutral, warmer colour. To help break up the otherwise plain background, I added a bright light source and some shadows. This technique is used in many product photoshoots to represent a window with a tree outside. The goal was to give the product more personality, whilst also giving some interesting reflections in the acrylic.
