In the exam, I wanted to create a variety of outcomes which would help promote the launch of a new project. To help collect my thoughts and ideas, I created the following mindmap:
This is arguably the most vital part of the product launch as it acts as both a form of advertisement and as a way to physically order the product. I created the following storyboard to help me plan and layout my website:
I wanted the website to be very eyecatching, and I aim to achieve this using an interactive 3D focal point. The 3D box will move around the page, revealing information to the customer, hopefully creating a unique experience for the customers. This premium ordering experience will hopefully result in an increase in sales for the company.
To help with my goal I further separated these into different pages:
This part of the website will act as a funnel for all visitors, and the primary goal is to present some facts and figures and create a flashy presentation convincing the customer as to why they should purchase the product. Throughout the page there should be a “Call to Action”, or a button which is clearly labelled to take them to the Order Page.
This page should have a clear way for customers to add key information such as what flavour they would like, billing information and a shipping address. Once this is all confirmed with the user it should take them to a page thanking them and giving an estimated shipping time.
This page is to clearly market the merch options detailed below.
Below are some of the merch items I outlined:
I thought a fun merch item would be a collection of enamel pins representing the different flavours we produce. I was also thinking about making a more fun and playful variant which would have expressions and faces on, but later decided against it due to it seeming too unprofessional. I would also create a series of smaller, normal pins with small designs inside.
Keychains are another popular piece of memorabilia that companies often give away. As well as this, it is a unique challenge designing secure packaging for them so they don’t fall off.
The tote bag would be a relatively simple design containing the logo and wordmark. I could make variations with different combinations of layouts and colours that the customer could select from.
