Developing the Brand

I came up with the name “Fruitful Tea Co.” and the tagline “Naturally Delightful”. I want the brand to promote the medicinal benefits associated with fruit tea whilst being presented as a playful yet professional brand. I want it to be seen as a disruptor within the sector, both with experimental flavours and inventive packaging and branding ideas. Whilst I enjoy the minimalist style from other brands, I believe that a more engaging and intriguing approach would be to use a more eye catching, modern style. I want to combine this style with a sort of tessellating pattern which would extend to the shape of the outer packaging.

Flavour Ideas

Below are some flavour ideas/combinations that my brand could sell.

  • Mixed Berries - A blend of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries.
  • Strawberry Kiwi - A refreshing combination of sweet strawberries and tangy kiwi.
  • Blueberry Pomegranate - A bold and antioxidant-rich blend of tart pomegranates and juicy blueberries.
  • Raspberry Lemonade - A bright and zesty mix of ripe raspberries and fresh lemon juice.
  • Cranberry Orange - A festive and vitamin C packed blend of cranberries and orange peel.
  • Peach Apricot - A smooth and fruity infusion of succulent peaches and velvety apricots.
  • Black Cherry - A rich and indulgent blend of dark, sweet cherries.
  • Goji Berry - An exotic and energizing blend of goji berries, known for their high levels of antioxidants.
  • Acai Blueberry - A superfood blend of acai berries and wild blueberries, both rich in anthocyanins.
  • Watermelon Mint - A thirst-quenching blend of juicy watermelon and cooling mint leaves.

Making the Product Distinctive

To help make the product stand out in a market off well known competitors, I aim to use a mixture of eye catching design, and clever marketing techniques. One such example of this could be playing into the “on demand” and delivery services that companies such as Hello Fresh use. I noticed there was a gap in the market when it came to this, and so I decided to also present the product as a weekly delivery where the customer can try the latest flavours from my company. It would be marketed as a subscription and you could pick from a selection of options.

This would also help me to focus my graphics towards the launch of this fictional service. As a way to gather my thoughts and ideas, I created a mindmap of potential graphics needed for a product launch:

I broke my ideas into the following categories:

  • Website
  • Merch

Website

This is arguably the most vital part of the product launch as it acts as both a form of advertisement and as a way to physically order the product. To help with my goal I further seperated these into different pages:

Launch Page

This part of the website will act as a funnel for all visitors, and the primary goal is to present some facts and figures and create a flashy presentation convincing the customer as to why they should purchase the product. Throughout the page there should be a “Call to Action”, or a button which is clearly labelled to take them to the Order Page.

Order Page

This page should have a clear way for customers to add key information such as what flavour they would like, billing information and a shipping address. Once this is all confirmed with the user it should take them to a page thanking them and giving an estimated shipping time.

Merch Shop Page

This page is to clearly market the merch options detailed below.

Merch

Below are some of the merch items I outlined:

Enamel Pins

I thought a fun merch item would be a collection of enamel pins representing the different flavours we produce. I was also thinking about making a more fun and playful variant which would have expressions and faces on, but later decided against it due to it seeming too unprofessional.

Tote Bag

The tote bag would be a relatively simple design containing the logo and wordmark. I would make variations with different combinations of layouts and colours that the customer could select from.
